Why

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) represents a grim public health crisis. In addition to the increase in opioid-related deaths, rates of alcohol use disorder rose during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How

Two interactive case studies provide realistic scenarios of treating patients with AUD who may be reluctant to use medications to treat their addictions.

Result

Clinicians can determine patients’ willingness to be treated for AUD by asking them the right questions and selecting the most appropriate therapy.
